Located in the city of Kashiwa in central Japan, Reitaku University has established a global reputation for its commitment to academic excellence and ethical principles. At the core of its philosophy is "moralogy," a self-coined term derived from “morals” and “logic” and signifies the integration of ethics and critical thinking in every aspect of study.

The university believes that a well-rounded education must go beyond the acquisition of knowledge and skills; it must also equip students with a strong moral compass.
“The university’s founding spirit is deeply rooted in moralogy. This can be summarized by the five principles: precedence of duty, belief in a divine being, ortholinon (the line of succession of one’s benefactors), self-renunciation, human enlightenment and salvation,” said President Suminori Tokunaga.
Through this all-encompassing methodology, Reitaku University hopes to produce students that possess intellectual prowess as well as exercise moral responsibility.
The university also embraces internationalization as a core element of its identity as it recognizes the value of a global perspective in our interconnected world. Through an array of international programs, such as student exchanges, joint research ventures, and collaborations with universities worldwide, it has created a thriving international community on campus.
“The university received high evaluations from overseas universities for our on-campus student dormitories and Japanese language education,” said Tokunaga, explaining that facilities for international students have been improved despite a decline in enrollment due to the pandemic.
“We also added an online Japanese language education system to enable prospective international students to learn Japanese in their respective countries prior to enrollment,” he added.
Tokunaga is confident that Reitaku University will continue producing principled global leaders by encouraging close interaction between faculty and students and by nurturing an international environment.
