Home to 118,000 residents and approximately 2,100 businesses, The Woodlands, about a 30-minute drive north of Houston, is one of the most successful master-planned districts in Texas and the U.S.

Aside from its strategic location and the unmatched quality of life for its residents, the nearly 50-year-old township has also nurtured a large, thriving business community whose interests are promoted by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
“COVID really slowed us down at the start, but we still grew. In fact, two of our best financial years at The Woodlands Chamber were 2020 and 2021. And that's a reflection of the area’s vibrant and thriving community. Businesses want to be part of a supportive community that values relationships and collaboration. That’s exactly the kind of community that have here," said JJ Hollie, who heads the Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
According to Hollie, the close partnership between the education sector, business community, the county and township governments contributed to the success of The Woodlands Area. By placing the interests of the community at the center of all development plans, residents and businesses saw long-term opportunities rise organically.
“All our hospitals are great supporters of the chamber and are closely involved in community activities. Majority of business owners support us with not only their dollars but also with their time and talents. We are very fortunate to have that kind of culture here in The Woodlands,” said Hollie.
The president hopes that more entrepreneurs and company executives consider bringing their business to The Woodlands Area, where they can enjoy a business-friendly climate, have access to highly-qualified workforce, and live among friendly neighbors.
